The starting point of the trail “Pazin – Gračišće” is located in front of the Central Istria Tourist Board which you will find about a hundred meters beneath the parish church of St. Nicholas (crkva sv. Nikole) built in 13th century. The trail runs eastwards through the very centre of Pazin, its main square and tree-lined promenade whose shades have always been a salvation to the citizens of Pazin during sizzling summer heat. After it passes the bus station, the trail continues along the main road to the village of Cerovlje. After 2.3 kilometres, you’ll arrive at a crossroads, where the trail leaves the main road and turns onto asphalt and gravel side roads that run through the villages of Bežići and Ivoli all the way to Šestani. After leaving the village of Šestani, turn onto a marked mountain trail that runs over the peak called Veliko gnijezdo. While admiring the surrounding nature, you’ll reach the gravel road leading to the village called Veliki Škljonki. Here you can enjoy amazing views of Učka and the surrounding fields.
The last stretch of the trail, after it passes Veliki Škljonki, runs along the asphalt road all the way to the end of the route in Gračišće. The trail runs along asphalt and gravel roads, which makes it an ideal choice for running and hiking during winter months when there is a lot of rainfall and mud.
